Nursery School "We Are Shaped and Fashioned by What We Love"
Our Early Childhood Center offers a non-sectarian program, which welcomes children of all religions and
ethnic backgrounds. We believe this promotes a healthier awareness and respect for individual differences
in all our children. The Church in the Highland's Early Childhood Center is a place where children
feel at home. We provide support and guidance in an atmosphere of loving care and concern. Our school helps
the child discover himself and find security with his peers and new adult friends.
Why Early Childhood?
Our program provides special experience as well as learning through play. Play
is children's work and this is consistently recognized in a worthwhile program. Each
child learns and develops in a setting prepared for him. The early years, birth
through sixth year, are the most important in developing a feeling of self worth and accomplishment. This
feeling is fostered by educators who understand and respect children for themselves.
Physical Plant
Bright well equipped classrooms form the core of our school. A large gym offers physical
outlet in inclement weather. Cooking is a fun and learning experience in our spacious kitchen. An
activity room provides a refreshing setting for music and other special programs.
An outdoor playground offers the child the opportunity to use and develop both large
and small muscles and strengthen coordination. Tricycles, jungle gym, climbing
house, slides and swings, and a large sand area are all utilized. A pirate ship and a coaster climber
contribute to hours of enjoyment.
