From the Pews
A "different" Religious Program
Sponsored by the Congregational Church in the Highlands, Views from the Pews is this
historic congregation's witness that the primary purpose of religion is to help free each
individual from superstition, fear and control. Only by honest inquiry in the pursuit of
truth may a person decide for her or himself what to believe. Our television series
presents the public with varying points of view on critically important issues. The
programs deal with subjects such as public responsibility (both politically and in our
educational system); the arts and humanities; creative use of leisure time; understanding
new developments in health care, and understanding religious faiths that differ from one's
own. They foster appreciation for the diversity that exists in society. It is hoped that
by helping the viewer to understand the points of view of others, alienation, animosity
and conflict may be alleviated, even abrogated, in the communities in which we live.
Tune in to Views From The Pews,
Sundays and Thursdays, 7:00 P.M. on Cable Channel 76 & Fios Channel 46
